Chlorpheniramine Maleate is an antihistamine that is used to relieve symptoms of allergy, hay fever and the common cold. Some symptoms may include rash, watery eyes, itchy eyes/hose/throat/skin, cough, runny nose and sneezing. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant before using this medication. Chlorpheniramine Maleate should not be used in the final 3 months of pregnancy since antihistamines may increase the risk of serious side effects, like seizures, in a newborn baby. It is best to discuss the risks and benefits with your physician before taking any medication. This medication is known to pass onto breast milk and it is best to consult your physician prior to breast feeding. Updated: 07.29.10
