Description

Seafood and fish are considered to be great sources for needed nutrients, vitamins, minerals and protein. However, while pregnant, a woman must be cautious of her mercury intake and limit certain types of seafood to lessen her risk of mercury passing to her unborn child. Even though the nutrients are needed for proper development in the growing fetus, too much mercury may be passed onto the baby and cause brain damage. It is recommended that when eating halibut that you consume no more than three 6-oz servings per month. Updated: 11.27.14
