It is unknown of household paints will have any adverse effects on your unborn baby. Painting does expose you to many chemicals that may include oils, resins, solvents, driers, extenders, vinyl, latex and acrylic. If possible, it is best to delay the project until after your baby is born or have someone else do the painting. However, if you are to use household paints it is better to limit the time you spend on the project, keep windows up, wear a mask, gloves, long pants and shirt, and do not eat or drink where you work to avoid accidentally ingesting chemicals.
