Naproxen is used to relieve pain and swelling and to treat headaches, muscle aches, backaches, dental pain, menstrual cramps, and tendonitis. Like ibuprofen, this medication is a nonsterodial anti-inflammatory drug. Some warning—this drug may infrequently cause serious and rarely fatal bleeding from the stomach or intestines. It is a risk that could occur without warning. Always consult your doctor if you are pregnant before using this medication. You should disk the risks and benefits of using this medication with your physician. This medication should only be used when clearly needed and only in the first 6 months of pregnancy. During the final three months of pregnancy there is a chance of harm to the unborn baby and interference with normal labor and delivery. Updated: 07.03.20
