Description
Penicillin is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections. It can be used specifically to prevent or treat infections that may stem from dental work. The Food and Drug Administration has labeled penicillin as a Category B for safety during pregnancy. This means that studies in pregnant women have not shown an increase in risk to the fetus. However, you should consult with your doctor, dentist, or health care provider about the possible risks and benefits of using penicillin. This drug is also known to pass into breast milk and it is recommended to consult your doctor before breastfeeding. Updated: 03.10.15
